While 2013 has been a slow year for compelling pop singles and albums, artists who dropped LPs in 2012 continue to release solid songs; here are three that I think deserve more attention. The first two, the Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris collab, "I Need Your Love," and Kesha's "Crazy Kids," are solid pieces of dance pop that should get more love from Top 40 radio. The third song, Alanis Morissette's self-esteem ballad, "Empathy," is one of the best tunes from Havoc and Bright Lights and is probably better suited for Adult Contemporary stations, where its clean and crisp production would fit comfortably.
