Jennifer Lopez is gearing up to release a new studio album. She has already dropped two promo tracks ("Same Girl" and "Girls"), and now has released her first official single for the project, "I Luh Ya Papi." Like "Same Girl" and "Girls," this first single signals a return to Lopez's musical roots: latin pop sounds, hip-hop beats, slow-grooves, and a "Jenny from the Block" sensibility. "I Luh Ya Papi" has flaws--namely some inane lyrics and a hook that doesn't quite grab as firmly as it could--but it is a refreshing change of pace after the singer's crass collaborations with Pitbull. The song has a laid-back vibe that sounds like Lopez is back in her element and enjoying herself this time around.
