Album of the Week: Betty Who's Slow Dancing EP

Betty Who's latest release, the Slow Dancing EP, is evidence she deserves to be a big pop star. With strong nods to the 80s and 90s, the five tracks reveal her vocal charisma and knack for good hooks. The lead single, "Heartbreak Dream," is a slice of energetic, summery nostalgia, and "Alone Again" is the kind of ballad any contemporary pop diva would love to sing. By the time you get to the hushed closer, "Silas," which sounds part Donna Lewis and part Spirit-era Jewel,  Who has created a compelling musical world that feels complete but leaves you wanting more.
