Coldplay has completely transitioned from the cool indie band of Parachutes into a premium dad rock group. However, the band knows its strengths and they play to them. (Yes, a pun!) Their 2014 release, Ghost Stories, is low-key divorce record, the exception being the comparatively upbeat "A Sky Full of Stars." Produced by Swedish House genius Avicii, the track transmutes lead singer Chris Martin's sadness into a dance-away-the-tears jam. Martin's voice works well with the beat-heavy setting because Avicii's production has an expansive nature that sounds like the band is running through an open field. Given the track's hook, this choice works exceptionally well.
